Have you wondered just what is safe to give to your precious pooch to eat other than dry or canned dog food?
Well we have compiled a list of fruits & veggies you can safely feed to your favorite furry friend:
Apples- don't give your dog the seeds or core you wouldn't want to eat that right? Apples help regulate blood sugar, protect the heart and can provide neurological and anti-cancer health. (avoid the Granny Smith variety-very acidic)
Bell Peppers- don't give your dog spicy peppers and no seeds. Bell Peppers are packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Red bell peppers are full of lutein and zeaxanthin that support eye health.
Blueberries- are packed with vitamins and minerals plus they can help reduce inflammation, fight cancer, protect the heart and improve memory.
Broccoli- don't give to dogs with hypothyroidism. Broccoli is rich in vitamins C, E and K and have some powerful anti-cancer effects and can help block the spread of cancer cells.
Cantaloupe- contains a healthy dose of antioxidants and vitamins
Zucchini- is rich in vitamins and fiber. Research shows that zucchini can help rid the body of dangerous free radicals, decrease inflammation, lower blood sugar, benefit eye health and support healthy blood pressure.
As with all foods these are all good in moderation and for dogs can be a healthy snack!
